Existing-home sales beating national average
By Michelle Cater RashThe Business Journal
Existing-home sales in Forsyth and Guilford counties are up 2.6 percent so far this year, bucking national numbers that are showing a 5.5 percent decline during the same period, according to data released by national and regional Realtors associations.
During the first seven months of the year, 8,112 existing homes were sold in those counties, according to association data. By comparison, only 7,904 existing homes were sold in Forsyth and Guilford counties through July 2005
But, in an industry where observers can generate numbers that often portray competing realities, those figures don't tell the whole story.
